Hadia studied at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy, where she gained 600 hours in Western Massage. There, she learned the importance of intuitive touch and listening to the body with her hands. She understands the depth of the body’s connection and incorporates it into her treatments.
Myofascial lines are specific patterns of fascia, a connective tissue network that envelops and interconnects muscles. When one area gets tight and restricted, it pulls on those lines, causing discomfort in other areas of the body. She ensures to treat it holistically, assuring that all areas are addressed.
Currently, Hadia is studying kinesiology at George Mason University, deepening her understanding of how the body moves and functions. Her extensive knowledge about muscles and their attachment sites allows her to locate trigger points and understand referral patterns. She advocates for movement because, when the body is stagnant and still, muscle adhesions can occur. Having written a synthesis on the vagus nerve, she is well-informed about the polyvagal theory.
When the vagus nerve is dysregulated, it can cause one to be stuck in the “fight-or-flight” or “freeze” response. She applies this knowledge to neck and abdominal massage to help regulate the nerve. In her free time, Hadia enjoys boxing, painting, and yoga. She also loves taking care of her many plants and her pet bunny!
